Women's Tennis continues to win in non-conference play

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin added two more victories on its schedule Sunday afternoon after defeating UW-River Falls, 9-0, and host St. Nobert, 7-2, at the Western Racquet Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin blanked UW-River Falls to begin the day and had little trouble in doubles and singles play. The Falcons duo of senior Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.) and senior Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) highlighted doubles with a convincing 8-1 win at the No. 2 position.
- The Falcons have up just 14 points in singles play. Carroll and Tresedder cruised to 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 victories, respectively, while senior Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 singles. Junior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) had a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and sophomore Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) recorded a 6-1, 6-2 decision in her favor at No. 5 singles. Junior Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) added a win to her credit with a 6-2, 6-2 result at the No. 3 position.
- Concordia Wisconsin built a 3-0 lead after doubles play against St. Norbert, which featured Solberg and Kelly combinding for an 8-2 win at the No. 1 position.
- The Falcons won the first two points in singles competition to clinch the match befroe the Green Knights took two singles points. The visitors added two more points for a 7-2 final.
- Tresedder had the easiest singles match that resulted in a 6-1, 6-4 victory, while Kelly earned a hard-fought 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-5) victory at No. 3 singles.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Falcons are 4-2 this season in matches that end in a 7-2 score and 8-0 in contents that result in a 9-0 decision.
- The win over St. Nobert is the first in the seven matches dating back to 2012.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin returns to the court on Friday, April 20 for a non-conference match at Carroll, with the first serve scheduled for 4 pm.
