HOW IT HAPPENED
- Saturday started off well for the Falcons, as they played determined in doubles competition against Alverno, outscoring the Inferno 24-2 to take a 3-0 lead in the match. The pairing of junior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.), and senior Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.), shutout their opponents 8-0 to get CUW off to a convincing start.
- Big efforts from junior Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) and senior Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.), in singles play allowed the hosts to gain control of the match even more as both competitors shutout their counterparts 6-0 in both sets. With the help of sophomore Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.), and sophomore Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.), Concordia Wisconsin allowed only 11 total match points to the Inferno.
- The day was not done for CUW, as they later took on Concordia Chicago and were provided a spark from freshman, Megan Sosnosky (Two Rivers, Wis.), as she was inserted into the lineup and did not allow a single point to be scored on her. Sosnosky competed with Sievers to blank the Cougars in doubles play by the score of 8-0. Later in singles play, Sosnosky took both sets 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
- The Falcons continued the momentum and only allowed 12 points in singles and doubles play combined against Concordia Chicago. CUW also won by default in two singles matches, as the Cougars couldn't provide a player to compete.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin now has extended its Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference regular season winning streak to 22 matches. Over that span, the Falcons have outscored NACC opponents 87-11.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons will have a week off until they meet up with Edgewood on September 16 at Quann Park in Madison, Wis.
