First place Adrian defeats Women’s Lacrosse
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Adrian College improved
to 14-2 overall and 6-0 in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play
with a 20-4 win over Concordia University Wisconsin on Sunday at
Performance Stadium.
The Bulldogs raced to a 5-0 lead in the first eight minutes and
were never threatened, although CUW did score four goals in the
first half before running out of gas. AC outshot CUW by a 41-11
margin, won the ground ball battle 34-8 and forced head coach Emily
Mason's team into 19 turnovers.
Sophomore Aly Pinkos (South Milwaukee, Wis.) scored
twice for the Falcons, while freshman Sammi Reiter (Stillwater,
Minn.) and sophomore Emily Heckendorf (Merrill, Wis.) each added a
single tally.
Olivia Duncan led the Bulldogs with five goals and teammates Stacy
Birlson and Amanda Lambert added three each.
Freshman Rebecca David (Oregon, Wis.) was credited with 12 saves in
goal for CUW. The loss dropped the second-year Falcons to 3-10 on
the season and 2-3 in conference play.
CUW hosts the College of Mount St. Joseph next Saturday at 3 p.m.
