MEQUON, Wis. - Going for their second straight home victory after beating Fontbonne last weekend, the Concordia University Wisconsin women's lacrosse team suffered a 12-8 defeat at the hands of Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon at Fitting Field.

CUW (1-5) got six goals from freshman Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) -- a single-game-tying program record -- as well as nine saves from freshman goalie Rebecca David (Oregon, Wis.), but it wasn't enough to hand Oberlin its first loss of the season.

After the Falcons took a 5-4 lead off a goal from freshman Alina Zibutis (Naperville, Ill.) with five minutes to go in the first half, Oberlin (8-0) rattled off six unanswered goals to take control of the game.

CUW continues to be led by the duo of Reiter of senior Marie Melton (Prior Lake, Minn.), who combined for seven of the team's eight goals and 15 of the Falcons' 22 shots. Melton also added an assist on Zibutis' tally.

Oberlin got three goals each from Kate Hanick and Alice Zicht, while Bronwen Schumacher and and Ilyssa Meyer added two apiece.

The Falcons will host the third and final game of a three-game home stand on Tuesday, when they'll lock horns with North Central College at Fitting Field at 4 p.m.
