Women’s Golf opens play at NACC Championship; Soar to fourth

RACINE, Wis. — On Saturday, the Concordia Wisconsin women's golf team participated in the first round of the NACC Women's Golf Championship. After the first day of competition, the Falcons find themselves in fourth place (402 team score, +110). Three Falcons find themselves in the top half of all competitors. 

The Basics: 

Course: Meadow Brook Country Club, Racine, Wis. 

Place: 4th out of 9 (402)  

Individuals: Gabrielle Flocco, T-6th (89); Molly Mundinger, T-17th (99); Taylor Chisolm, 21st (104); Amy Carpenter, 27th (110); Madison Ferch, T-37th (124) 

How it Happened: 

In the opening round of the three-day competition, the Falcons finished the day in fourth place. As a team, they shot a combined score of 402. 

Freshman Gabrielle Flocco (Castle Pines, Colo.) is the Falcons front-runner after the first day. She sits tied for sixth place after posting a score of 89 strokes. 

Junior Molly Mundinger (West Bend, Wis.) and senior Taylor Chisolm (Lindenhurst, Ill.) find themselves in the middle of the pack after shooting 99 and 104 respectively. 

To round out the group, junior Amy Carpenter (Elk Grove Village, Ill.), and freshman Madison Ferch (Davenport, Iowa) posted scores of 110 and 124 respectively. 

Aurora, Lakeland and St. Norbert find themselves in the top 3 after the first day of competition, with Concordia Wisconsin rounding out the top half. 

Next: 

Concordia Wisconsin and the rest of the NACC conference will find themselves back at Meadowbrook Country Club for the second round of competition, with the third and final day being played on Monday.
