Men’s Cross Country finishes second at Regent Relay

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's cross country team competed in a virtual race on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons took second place with nine points in a field of 11 teams on Tuesday.

Each relay was broken down into teams of two individuals with the athletes alternating each mile with every individual competing three miles.

The CUW athletes did their run around campus on Tuesday afternoon.

Leading the virtual relay was the "straight bruisin'" team of freshman Tim Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) and freshman Richard Schaefer (Racine, Wis.) at 30:22 to take the crown.

The "nighthawks" duo of junior William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) and freshman Huy Nguyen (Pennsauken, N.J.) finished behind at 31:53 in eighth place.

In 20th place was "what the Heck" team of freshman Joshua Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) and sophomore Zachary Heckman (Sussex, Wis.) clocked in at 33:45.

The "second dinner" team of freshman Jack Ramstack (Colgate, Wis.) and freshman Ryan Klug (Arlington, Va.) finished at 35:28 in 26th place.

Clocking in at 38:07 was the "breadwinners" pair of sophomore Tim Steinke (Brookfield, Wis.) and freshman Kaden Torres (Big Rapids, Mich.).

Each duo came up with their team name.

Carthage won the event with the second and third best times on the day with five points.
