Huerta-Gutierrez, Wilcox post season-bests for Men's Cross Country

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Cross Country team was back at it Saturday, competing at the Kollege Town Invitational, hosted by UW-Oshkosh. The Falcons had some strong performances, highlighted by season-best races from Emanuel Huerta-Gutierrez and Matthew Wilcox.

THE BASICS
- Falcons Finish: 21st of 26
- Location: Lake Breeze Golf Club – Winneconne, Wisconsin
- Falcons Top Five: Reese, Teigen, Huerta-Gutierrez, Haak, Wilcox

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Craig Reese (Germantown, Wis.) once again paced the Falcons on Saturday. He finished 71st overall with a time of 27:18.5

- Teigen (Fargo, N.D.) was next in line for the Falcons, navigating through the 8K course in a time of 28:10.3.

- Huerta-Gutierrez (Walworth, Wis.) looked great in a running a season-best effort of 29:40.2. Wilcox (APO, AE) also ran a season-best, posting his by nearly two minutes with a 32:59.1. Nikolai Haak (Elizabethtown, Ind.) finished between Huerta-Gutierrez and Wilcox, running a 31:08.8.

- Zachary Hutchins (Kewaskum, Wis.) rounded out the Falcons lineup with a 34:38.

RACE RESULTS
- Augustana (Illinois) won the Kollege Town Invitational with a team score of 97. They finished ahead of the meet host, UW-Oshkosh, who tallied a 108.

- Unattached runner Nathan Routheiri won the race with a time of 25:20.6, while Heidelberg's Austin Neura was the top finisher from a team, running a 25:23.2

- The race featured teams from six states and some of the top teams in the Midwest Region as well.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons are off next weekend before running at the NACC Championships on October 28. CUW will host the NACC Championships and the men's race is set to start at 11 a.m.
