Men’s Volleyball Journey Ends in the NACC Semifinals

MEQUON, Wis. – The historic journey for the CUW men's volleyball team came to an end on Thursday night in the NACC Tournament Semifinals. No. 5 Dominican proved to be too much to handle and advanced to the finals at No. 6 Benedictine on Saturday with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-14 victory.

The Falcons soared to new heights in 2021 and reached the NACC Tournament Semifinals for the first time in program history with the 3-2 victory at MSOE on Tuesday night.

Junior James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) led the flock with seven kills and seven digs in the match.

Senior Matthew Korman (Roscoe, Ill.) dished out 15 assists on Thursday night.

The Blue and White finish the 2021 campaign with an overall record of 6-8.

The CUW senior class of Jeremy Theis (Port Washington, Wis.), Josh Dinkelman (Glenview, Ill.), Zach Smith (Massillon, Ohio), Matthew Korman, and Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) is the first four-year class in program history and finished with 23 wins. They helped guide a new program from a winless first season, to an appearance in the NACC Semifinals in their final match. The graduating class helped build a striong foundation for the program to grow upon and reach new heights.
