Men’s Volleyball cruises at Edgewood

MADISON, Wis. – The CUW men's volleyball team took care of business on Friday night with a 3-0 victory at Edgewood. The Falcons won 25-15, 25-20, 25-10 to improve to 3-3 on the year.

"I am very proud of how focused they came out and played tonight," said head coach Curtis Madson. "Any night that you can limit yourself to hitting nine hitting errors is huge. Minus the hiccup in the second where we had eight of our nine is amazing. Nathan Petrus did an amazing job tonight in his first collegiate start running an extremely efficient and potent offense. He took his opportunity and stepped up. As we head into the second half of our season, it is great to see that we are really starting to buckle down and play good volleyball."

The Falcons hit a blistering .565 in the first set and finished the set with 13 kills.

The Eagles held tight in the second set, but the Falcons were able to win the set at 25-20.

The Blue and White blew the Eagles out of the water in the third set when they hit .588 to cruise, 25-10.

The Falcons hit a school-record .400 hitting percentage on the night.

Freshman Spencer Herman (Appleton, Wis.) and junior James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) both finished with 13 kills.

Freshman Nathan Petrus (St. Louis, Mo.) added 29 assists in the victory and Spencer Herman led the flock with eight digs.

The Falcons will host Dominican on Friday.
