Falcons downed by No. 14 Eagles

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin faced its second nationally-ranked opponent this season, thus far in No. 14 Benedictine, and was unable to pull out a victory, losing 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-12) on Saturday inside the Rice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons had a tough time offensively and hit -.051 on the day, but did have 5.5 total blocks. The Eagles recorded a .414 hitting percentage and tallied 12.5 team blocks.
- Concordia Wisconsin was down two points, 5-3, early in the first set before Benedictine put together an 11-3 scoring run to pull away and win the opening set 25-11. The visitors went back-and-forth with the hosts through 14 points in the second frame and again was down two points, 8-6, before a 12-2 run separated the Eagles and eventually led to a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Falcons had their highest hitting percentage of the three sets in the third at .130 (8K-5E-23A).
- Sophomores James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) and Cody Sciabica (Henderson, Nev.) each had a team-high six kills, while freshman Keegan Talbott (Cambridge, Wis.) dished out 14 assists. Althoff also had five digs and three blocks.
- Benedictine was led by Marcus Gonzalez who had seven kills, while Mike Legros and Joe Lock each had 11 assists.
