Falcons offense sets record in sweep of Sabercats

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin's offense was fined tuned and in prime form on Thursday night during a 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-19) non-conference victory over Maranatha Baptist. The Falcons set a program-record with a .352 hitting percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons offense barely did anything wrong against the Sabercats with just 10 attack errors in the three-set victory, while hitting a program-record .352 at the net. Sophomore James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) smashed 21 kills, which is a record for a three-set match, and had a .514 hitting percentage (third-highest percentage in a match in program history).
- Concordia Wisconsin hit .375 in the first set, .400 in the second and .290 in the third frame.
- Sophomore Cody Sciabica (Henderson, Nev.) added seven kills and hit .308 at the net, to go along with four service aces. Senior Matthew Korman (Roscoe, Ill.) dished out 28 assists, had five kills and posted a .714 hitting percentage on seven attempts. Sophomore Ryan Hoefs (Greendale, Wis.) added nine digs and two service aces. Freshman Dylan Griffith (Middleton, Wis.) led all players with 11 digs.
- Althoff's .514 hitting percentage was just the third time in program history a player hit .500 or better.
- Maranatha Baptist was led by James Rossiter who had 10 kills.

- Concordia Wisconsin returns to the court on March 6 for a NACC game at Aurora, with the first serve scheduled for 7 pm.
