Falcons downed by Red Men

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin had its struggles against No. 10 Carthage on Saturday morning during a 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-15) non-conference setback inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons had a tough go of it offensively against the Red Men, who were ranked 10th in the country. They ended with a -.039 hitting percentage and had 5.5 total blocks in the match. They performed their best in the second set with a .111 hitting percentage, to go along with 2.5 total blocks.
- Concordia Wisconsin had the second set close, down four points (18-14), but couldn't put together enough of a scoring spurt to get ahead. Carthage would maintain the advantage and win the frame by six points.
- Sophomore James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) led the hosts with 11 kills, while senior Matthew Korman (Roscoe, Ill.) dished out 19 assists. Junior Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) tallied three blocks (one solo).
- Carthage was led by Braeden Waumans who had eight kills and hit .357. The Red Men had six players with three or more kills.
