Falcons Open Outdoor Season at Rose Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Falcons returned to the track on Saturday for the Rose Hulman Early Bird Invite, where they turned in a solid performance and finished in seventh place with 72 points.

Host Rose-Hulman claimed first place with 135 points.

Sophomore Se'Korrey Thomas (Punta Gorda, Fla.) led the way for CUW in the 100-meter, clocking a time of 11.17 seconds to finish eighth and earn one team point.

In the 110-meter hurdles, junior Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.) set a personal best with a time of 16.60 seconds, finishing fifth overall and contributing four points to the team total.

The hurdles squad also scored in the 400-meter hurdles. Sophomore Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) took third with a personal-record time of 56.95 seconds, while sophomore Josh Sipes (Charleston, Ill.) finished fifth at 59.76 seconds. Together, they earned 10 points for the Falcons.

In his first career meet, senior Zach Leahy (West Dundee, Ill.) claimed the gold in the 800-meter, crossing the finish line at 1:56.49—just three seconds off the school record.

In other mid-distance action, sophomore Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) took fifth in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:09.72.

Wendland also added points in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.75 meters.

In the javelin, three Falcons scored points. Senior Holter Gette (Batavia, Ill.) earned silver with a throw of 47.36 meters, while freshman Justin Clark (Goodyear, Ariz.) finished fourth with a throw of 43.74 meters, contributing five points. Wendland, continuing his strong performance, took sixth with a throw of 42.33 meters.

CUW also had strong showings in the triple jump, with four athletes scoring points. Freshman Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) took second with a jump of 12.77 meters, while freshman Corban Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.) was fourth at 11.95 meters. Sophomore Aaron Klug (Arlington, Va.) and freshman Caeden Kreibich (Somerset, Wis.) finished sixth with marks of 11.76 meters. Together, they combined for 17 points.

In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of freshman Victor Watson Jr. (Cypress, Texas), Se'Korrey Thomas, freshman Silas Bernardino (Daly City, Calif.), and freshman Jalen Pressley (Leesburg, Fla.) finished fifth with a time of 45.46 seconds.

Looking ahead, the Falcons will next compete at the North Central 1st Chance Invite on March 28-29.
