
Falcons Claim Two Titles at NACC Championships
KENOSHA, Wis. – On Saturday, the Concordia Wisconsin men's track & field team improved a spot at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Falcons finished in fourth place with 51 points and two gold medals. The Green Knights of St. Norbert secured the title with 184.50 points.
Senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) secured the NACC crown in the 3000-meter run on Saturday at 8:39.78, edging out Xander Gottner of MSOE at 8:41.12. Freshman Jonah Slavik (Muskego, Wis.) finished ninth at 8:56.10 and sophomore Mason Everts (Saukville, Wis.) was 25th at 9:50.05.
Sophomore Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) was the NACC champion in the heptathlon with 4316 points and senior Jacob Couillard (Kingsford, Mich.) finished 11th at 3040 points.
In the 800-meter run, sophomore Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) won the silver medal at 1:56.87. Senior Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) finished in 12th place at 2:05.94, and sophomore Riley Johnson (Cedar Lake, Ind.) placed 16th at 2:10.09.
Zach Wendland was ninth in the high jump at 1.81 meters.
In the mile run, Jaden Schultz crossed the finish line at 4:30.79 in eighth place.
Four Falcons ran in the 400-meter dash. Josh Sipes led the flock in 14th place at 54.23. Freshman Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) finished 16th at 54.55, with freshman Brock Roseman (Pueblo, Colo.) at 55.37 in 19th place and freshman Dominic Ceballos (Milwaukee, Wis.) in 20th place at 55.82.
CUW had two competitors in the 200-meter dash: sophomore Se'Korrey Thomas (Punta Gorda, Fla.), who placed 25th at 24.11, and junior Nick Taylor (West Bend, Wis.), who placed 35th at 25.82.
The team of sophomore Josh Sipes (Charleston, Ill.), freshman Kam'ron Pierre (Santa Clarita, Calif.), Lucas Mathes and Isiah Lubner finished fourth in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:29.48.
Nick Taylor reached 5.54 meters in the long jump to finish in 22nd place.
Freshman Hayden Kettmann (Beecher, Ill.) led the Falcons in the shot put at 11.72 meters in 14th place with junior John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) in 17th place at 10.93 meters and freshman Clayton Nichols (Oconomowoc, Wis.) at 10.12 meters in 21st place.
The Falcons will compete as a team against at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invotes on March 22.
