Men’s Tennis Advanced to the NACC Finals

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's tennis team ended their season in the NACC Tournament Finals.

CUW fought back in the second half of the season and ended their season with an overall record of 10-10 (.500) and a winning conference record of 6-1 (.857).

The Falcons opened their season hot at the NACC Fall Invite. The leading duo of senior Logan Snyder (Franklin, Ind.) and freshman Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) won the invitational with an 8-4 victory over Edgewood in the quarterfinals, an 8-2 victory in the semifinals over Wisconsin Lutheran, and an 8-1 victory over their own teammates. Sliding in behind them was the team of senior Tim Peters (Slinger, Wis.) and freshman Peter Naylor (Lockport, Ill.) with the silver medal.

Landon Sather was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the week for the week of February 21-27, 2022.

Tim Peters was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the week for the week of March 7-13, 2022.

CUW spent their spring break in the sunny state of South Carolina. The Falcons closed their trip with a win over Western New England. The 8-1 win started with a victory at No. 2 doubles with the team of Tim Peters and Peter Naylor. Logan Snyder sank Nick Bayer at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 7-5.

Logan Snyder was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the week for the week of March 14-20, 2022.

CUW opened their spring NACC play on March 26th with a loss to North Central but then flipped the switch and beat Concordia Chicago 9-0. A total of five Falcons sank Concordia Chicago singles with 6-0,6-0. The flock improved their conference record to 4-8.

In the NACC Semifinals, the Falcons swept the MSOE Raiders. The doubles play was swept by the Flacons with a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. Landon Sather secured the victory for the Blue and White with scores of 6-3 and 6-4 in singles play. The flock moved to the NACC Finals in Kohler, Wis. against the Scarlet Hawks. The Blue and White fell short with a clinched singles victories on courts two, three, four, and five by Illinois Tech. CUW ended their season with this 5-2 loss and a 10-10 record.

The Falcons took All-NACC Honors with four all-singles selections and three all-doubles honors. Landon Sather, Logan Snyder, Tim Peters, and Peter Naylor all took all-singles selections. The teams of Logan Snyder and Landon Sather, Peter Naylor and Tim Peters, and junior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) and freshman Izak Roscher (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) took all-doubles honors. Landon Sather also claimed the co-NACC Freshman of the Year title.

The CUW men's tennis team will begin their quest for the NACC title once again in the fall.
