Three from Men's Soccer land All-Region honors

KANSAS CITY – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team was well-represented on the United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region Team, which was released Tuesday night. The NACC Regular Season Champion Falcons had three players earn All-Region status.

Junior defender Gavin Falotico was named Second Team All-Region for the third straight year. Joining Falotico with All-Region recognition was Colin Dibb and Dagoberto Diaz, each player repeating as Third Team picks. It marks the third straight season CUW had three players honored regionally, with this year's list the exact same as 2016.

Falotico (Palatine, Ill.) has been one of the top defenders in the area since joining the Falcons prior to the 2015 season. He helped lead CUW to its second NACC Regular Season Championship in the past three years and a key defender on a defense that posted five shutouts throughout the season. The Falcons gave up just 23 goals throughout the season, giving up one or zero goals in 12 different contests.

Diaz (Woodburn, Ore.) was one of the top midfielders in the NACC this season, along with being one of the elite scoring threats in the league. Diaz totaled 33 points in NACC matches, leading all players in the conference. He finished the year with 12 goals and 12 assists in 18 matches, ranking first on the Falcons in goals, assists, and points.

Dibb (Hartland, Wis.) had another strong season for the Falcons in 2017, producing 29 points in 17 matches. The senior striker scored 11 goals and tallied seven assists, ranking second on the team behind only Diaz in goals, assists, and points. Dibb was a Second Team All-NACC pick this fall.

The NACC was well-represented in the All-Region awards with 11 players from the league being selected. A list of the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Division III Men's All-Central Region Team can be found here.
