PITCH PASS (MEN'S)
- The Falcons found their offensive touch in Thursday's NACC-opening win over Marian. CUW, which had been held to three goals in its previous five matches, struck six times in a 6-1 win. Josiah Ochoa led the way with two goals.

- CUW has had no shortage of scoring opportunities this season. The Falcons lead the NACC in shots per game at 20.7. CUW has fired 20 or more shots four times this season and has finished with 15-plus shots in every match but one.

- The Falcons did an outstanding job keeping Marian's Alonso Fragoso in check Thursday. Fragoso leads the NACC with 11 goals but was held to just one shot against CUW. They will have their hands full with another outstanding player Saturday in the Eagles' Nick Kapetanos. Kapetanos was the NACC Player of the Year in 2016, scoring 27 goals.

- In last season's meeting at Fitting Field, the Falcons fell 1-0. It was Kapetanos who netted the score in the 65th minute. The Falcons held the shots advantage 14-9, but Benedictine finished with one more shot on goal (6-5).

PITCH PASS (WOMEN'S)
- Both Benedictine and CUW opened NACC play with wins Wednesday. The Falcons used a hat trick from Kayla Schlosser to defeat Marian, 3-2. Benedictine received two second-half scores in a 2-0 win against Concordia Chicago.

- Schlosser's hat trick was the first for the Falcons since the 2014 season.  It also marked the third multi-goal match for Schlosser as a Falcon, as she now has 18 career goals.

- CUW is 11-1-2 against Benedictine in matchups dating back to the 2001 season. The Falcons and Eagles played to a 2-2 tie last season, with CUW scoring the tying goal with 4:10 remaining in regulation.

- The Eagles had a tough non-conference stretch to begin the season, dropping their first seven matches. Six of those came by just one goal, with five of the one-goal losses coming on the road.
