Men's Soccer erupts for 12 goals in dominant NACC win

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team was coming off its first NACC loss Wednesday in another league match against Lakeland. The Falcons responded from that setback and then some with a 12-0 thrashing of Lakeland. Colin Dibb led the way with three goals, while Dagoberto Diaz, Cristian Tyrpak, and Brian Tener added two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons buried six goals in each half en route to the easy NACC win. Dibb (Hartland, Wis.) scored two in the first half, as did Diaz (Woodburn, Ore.). Dibb added two assists in the half and finished with a team-best five points. Diaz tallied four points in the win.

- Luis Loya (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Cristian Typrak (Hartford, Wis.) also scored in the first half for the Falcons. Zach Gyuricza (Chicago, Ill.), Owen Hanisko (Hartford, Wis.), and Nick Anweiler (Plainfield, Ill.) added assists in the opening 45 minutes.

- After halftime, Gyuricza put the Falcons up 7-0 with his third goal of the season, this one assisted by Diaz. Diaz and Gyurciza then joined up to assist Dibb's hat-trick score in the 61st minute. The trio came out shortly after that, with the match well in hand.

- Tyrpak added a second score in the second half before senior Devin Bathke (Chippewa, Falls, Wis.) netted his second career score in the 78th minute. Tyrpak's goal was assisted by Avery Grondin (La Salle, Ontario) and Anweiler tallied his second assist on Bathke's score.

- The final two goals for the Falcons came off the foot of Tener (Glenview, Ill.). Freshman Jovan Jardine (Winter Park, Fla.) assisted on Tener's final goal.

- Nate Yeager (Rio Rancho, N.M.) and Nathan Munsterman (Round Lake, Ill.) split time at keeper for the Falcons. Yeager went in as the goalie of record, gaining his seventh win of the season. The Falcons spent much of their time in their offensive zone, outshooting Lakeland 53-1.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 12 goals are the most for the Falcons since at least the 2002 season. Since 2002, CUW has scored 11 on two occasions, both against Rockford (2006 and 2015).

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will be back at it Saturday with a non-conference match against Finlandia. Saturday will also be Senior Day as the Falcons Seniors will be honored before the match. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
