2021-22 Moments of the Year (No. 3): Falcons Earn All-American Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The 2021-22 athletic year was another successful one for the Concordia Wisconsin Athletic Department. The Falcons won and contended for conference championships in many sports and put together an impressive list of great achievements. As in years past, the Department of Athletic Communications tries to sort through all the great moments and give you, the fans, top stories from the past year.

The list of stories was compiled by the Department of Athletic Communications and, like all lists, is subject to debate. The top stories will be revealed over the next few days, with stories being released on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The top story will be released on July 27.

The Falcons thrived on the field of competition and in the classroom during the 2021-22 season. The Blue and White had six All-Americans and 11 Academic Americans.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association honored senior Gina Followell (Romeoville, Ill.) to the NFCA First Team and junior Claudia Utz (Lockport, Ill.) to the NFCA Third Team.

A pair of Falcons also earned All-American honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Sophomore Maycee Karpfinger was named to the first team and sophomore Spencer Herman earned honorable mention honors.

Senior Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) earned All-American honors with the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after his performance at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches placed senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) on the NABC All-American Third Team.

Johnson was one of two Falcons to be honored for their work in the classroom and in competition by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Senior Kelsey Bollon was voted to the CoSIDA Softball All-American First Team and Jordan Johnson was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team.

The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) recognized five Falcons as Krampade All-American Scholars.

A senior forward from Billings, Montana, Emily Reimche is claiming the title for the third time.

A junior goaltender from Castle Rock, Colorado, Annalina Van Hercke and senior defender Sarah Tretina, from Plainfield, Illinois, are making their second appearance on the AHCA All-American Scholar team.

The goaltending duo of freshman Kami McCardle from Jackson, Wisconsin, and freshman Cheree Peters from Vernon, British Columbia, are making their first appearance.

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced four Falcons as NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans for the 2021-2022 season

Earning the honor for the Falcons are juniors Jack O'Donnell (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Quinn Hoopman (Cedar Grove, Wis.) as well as sophomores Lucas Regnier (Bradley, Ill.) and Peyton Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.).
