Women's Hockey shut out at St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. – For the second straight day, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team was unable to solve Leigh Grall of St. Norbert College. After playing to a scoreless tie Friday night, the Falcons fell, 1-0, in a Saturday afternoon contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The story of the game, just as it was Friday, was the play of goaltenders Grall and the Falcons Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.). Pattengale made 19 stops on Saturday and recorded saves on 43 of the 44 shots she faced over the two-game set.

- Grall stopped 30 shots for the Green Knights and posted a shutout for the third straight game. She also had a shutout of Finlandia before the two-game series with the Falcons.

- The game's lone goal came midway at the near halfway point of play. Lisa Lennell scored 10:02 into the second period on an unassisted goal.

- The Falcons finished the game 0-for-6 on the power play while holding St. Norbert scoreless on five power play attempts. CUW finished the day with a 30-20 edge in shots.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will return home next weekend for two non-conference games against St. Benedict. The first of those is set for a 7 p.m. start Friday night.
