Burke named NAC Pitcher of the Week
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior
pitcher Danielle Burke earned her first Northern Athletics
Conference Pitcher of the Week honor for the 2012 season, the
league office announced Monday night.
The right-hander earned three
complete-game victories in the circle for the Falcons (10-01, 5-1
NAC) last week. She struck out 12 batters and held Maranatha
Baptist Bible College to just two hits in a shutout victory last
Tuesday. Burke then shutout, allowed three hits and struck out four
against Concordia University Chicago on Saturday before defeating
Benedictine University with three strikeouts.
The Burlington, Wis., native
finished the week with 19 strikeouts, a 0.41 ERA in three complete
game performances. She allowed nine hits and gave up just one
earned run. The NAC honor was the second of her career.
She was also named CUW Player of
the Week, sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
