Scoring, defense highlight Softball in final NCAA statistics

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin ranked among the best in the nation in scoring and had an even better defense during the 2012 season. The Falcons had 67th best field percentage in the country with a .96 percentage.

CUW also ranked 84th in scoring with a 5.63 runs per game average, while hitting 1.66 doubles per game to rank 61st. The team's highest ranking was 58th in the country after turning 0.34 double plays per game.

Individually, junior Holly Zinnecker (Roscoe, Ill.) finished the season fourth in the nation in sacrifice hits per game (.46). Seniors Chelsie Strosina (Burlington, Wis.) and Danielle Burke (Burlington, Wis.) were 38th and 58th, respectively, in hit-by-pitch per game (0.22) and shutouts (5).

In all, five Falcons ranked individually in the top 200 in the country.
