Men's Track & Field Competes at Parkside

KENOSHA, Wis. – Saturday saw the CUW men's track and field squad claim fourth place at the Parkside Classic with 61 points, while the Firebirds of Carthage College took first with 186 team points.

The Falcons enjoyed success from the 55-meter hurdles, as junior Bernie Van Den Heuvel (Valders, Wis.) completed the race with a time of 8.40 seconds, securing second and scoring eight team points. Behind him was sophomore Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.), who took fourth place with a time of 8.90 seconds, while freshman Luke Witte (Monroe, Mich.) secured four team points for his fifth-place finish at 9.81 seconds.

Sophomore Nick Taylor (West Bend, Wis.) led the flock in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.32 seconds.

In the 400-meter dash, Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) locked up three team points with his sixth-place finish, finishing at 53.55 seconds.

Senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) snagged five team points in the one-mile event, taking fourth with a time of 4:26.71.

In the triple jump, the Falcons locked up five team points as sophomore Mason Knueppel (Jackson, Wis.) recorded a distance of 11.63 meters, while freshman Aaron Klug (Arlington, Va.) secured two points for his 11.21 meter mark. Knueppel also led the Blue and White in the long jump, with a distance of 5.70 meters.

Meanwhile, the high jump saw freshman Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) clear a height of 1.80 meters, while freshman Ben Wrenn (Good Hope, Ill.) claimed two team points for his fifth-place finish with a height of 1.70 meters.

Leading CUW in the pole vault was junior Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.), who cleared a height of 4.01 meters, while Wendland also locked up three points with a mark of 3.11 meters.

Junior Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) continued his excellent season with a fourth-place finish in the shot put, recording a mark of 13.65 meters. Moeller also finished second in the weight throw, with a distance of 17.07 meters, good for eight team points.

Next weekend, the Falcons will travel north to UW-Stevens Point to compete in the NACC Championships on Feb. 23rd and Feb. 24th, with competition starting at 9 a.m. on both days.
