Men's Track & Field finishes third at St. Norbert meet

DE PERE, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team finished third Saturday at the St. Norbert Quadrangular. The Falcons had several strong performances, including an individual title form Damon Nick in the 110-meter hurdles and a win from the 4X400-meter relay team.

THE BASICS
- Falcons Score: 110 points (3rd of 7)

- Individual Champions: Damon Nick (110-meter hurdles); 4X400-meter relay

HIGHLIGHTS
- Nick (Slinger, Wis.) won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.27, topping the field of 14 competitors. He also finished third in the 200-meter dash, finishing the race in 23.44 seconds. Sophomore Silas Hasselbrook (Missoula, Mont.) added to the 110-meter hurdles, finishing third at 15.81.

- The Falcons had two top-five finishers in the 400 Saturday, led by sophomore Jake Roy (Appleton, Wis.) who placed third. Roy completed the race in 51.39 seconds, while junior Logan Hass (Manawa, Wis.) was fifth at 52.28.

- Junior Brandon Goesch (Germantown, Wis.) placed second in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 2:02.53.

- CUW added a pair of top-five finishers in the 1,500 meter run in juniors Zach Ziemann (Jackson, Wis.) and Michael Taylor (Denmark, Wis.). Ziemann was fourth with a time of 4:11.18, while Taylor was just behind at 4:13.46.

- The Falcons 4X400-meter relay team won a race of seven teams with a time of 3:28.45. CUW also received a second-place effort from the 4X100-meter relay at 44.86.

- Senior Bathong Pham (Milwaukee, Wis.) and freshman Grant Johnson (Oconomowoc, Wis.) placed four-five in the pole vault. Pham cleared 4.00 meters, while Johnson went over the height of 3.85 meters. Johnson added a second-place finish in the triple jump, leaping 12.46 meters.

- Senior Jacob Schwark (Fraser, Mich.) was fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 44.89 meters.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons now turn their attention to the NACC Outdoor Championships. The two-day event is set for next Friday and Saturday at Benedictine.
