Men's Track & Field ready for NACC Indoor Championships

The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team will take part in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Championships Saturday. The Falcons enter the weekend with several strong performances throughout the indoor season and will look to build on that at the meet Saturday, which is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start at Carthage College.

CUWFalcons.com takes a look at some of the things you need to know before the NACC Indoor Championships.

White's Indoor Success: Junior Tyler White (Milwaukee, Wis.) has had an impressive run at the NACC Indoor Championships over the past few seasons. White was the Field Athlete of the Meet and Co-Freshmen of the Meet in 2013 before missing the 2014 season. He didn't miss a beat last season, winning Co-Field Athlete of the Meet. White is a two-time champion in the long jump and won the triple jump last year.

Indoor Championship History: The Falcons have captured three NACC Indoor titles in the nine-year history of the league. Only Aurora (4), CUW (3) and MSOE (2) have won Indoor titles on the men's side, with Aurora taking the last three. The Falcons championships came in 2012, 2010 and 2009.

60-Meter Hurdles: An event where CUW could expect to gain some points on Saturday is the 60-meter hurdles. The Falcons have two of the top four times in the NACC this season, including junior Damon Nick (Slinger, Wis.) who ranks second at 8.38. Sophomore Silas Hasselbrook (Missoula, Mont.) has the fourth best NACC time this season at 8.61.

Relays: CUW has the third best time in the NACC in both the 4X400-meter and distance medley relays this season. Benedictine owns the top 4X400 mark of the year, while MSOE has ran the fastest distance medley time thus far.

Below are some other events where the Falcons have competitors ranked inside the top eight entering the NACC Indoor Championships:
400-meter dash: Jake Roy (Appleton, Wis.) – 51.12 (2nd)
400-meter dash: Silas Hasselbrook – 52.89 (8th)
