Falotico wins Javelin, Men's Track & Field competes at Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. – Freshman Gavin Falotico competed in the javelin throw for the first time one week ago. Fast forward a week and Falotico (Palatine, Ill.) is winning the event at meets. Falotico's first-place finish paced the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team at the Benedictine Relays this past weekend.

THE BASICS
- Location: Benedictine Track – Lisle, Ill.
- Individual Champion: Gavin Falotico (Javelin – 53.40 meters)

HIGHLIGHTS
- Falotico topped a field of 31 athletes with his throw of 53.40 meters, which was also a PR for the freshman.

- Senior Bathong Pham (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing a new PR at 4.10 meters. Pham's previous season-best height was 3.79 meters.

- There were no other top-five finishes for the Falcons, as several events featured 30-50 athletes competing, the most they will likely see this season. Still, CUW posted several PRs at the meet.

- Junior Brandon Goesch (Germantown, Wis.) finished sixth in the 800 with a PR time of 1:57.02 as he continues to improve in the event.
