Men’s Soccer Ties With Edgewood

MEQUON, Wis. – Saturday saw the CUW men's soccer team tie with the Eagles of Edgewood College at -0-0. Following Concordia's first tie of the season, their record now stands at 4-7-1 and 2-5-1 in conference play.

The first half finished with both teams tied at nil, as possession for both teams was nearly equal, and scoring chances were limited as CUW registered four shots while Edgewood only had two.

The stalemate continued in the second half as the Falcons and Eagles battled to a scoreless tie.

The trio of freshman Joey Moua (Eau Claire, Wis.), freshman Vladimir Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.), and junior Alishan Sharipov (Krasnodar, Russia) all recorded a team-high two shots, as Sharipov had a game-high two shots on goal.

In his second appearance of the year, freshman goalkeeper Brenden Hummer (O'Fallon, Mo.) recorded one save and came away with the result.

The Falcons will remain at Fitting Field and host the Sabres of Marian University on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m.
