Second Half Spoils the Day Against the Scarlet Hawks

CHICAGO – The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer team hit some turbulence in the windy city in the second half of Saturday's match at Illinois Tech. The Scarlet Hawks rallied to down the Falcons, 4-3, and second the Falcons to 4-6-0 and 2-4-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The Falcons started the scoring in the 30th minute when freshman Joey Moua (Eau Claire, Wis.) connected with a shot to the far corner from just outside the 18-yard box.

Five minutes later, senior Manuel Brito (Chicago, Ill.) scored in his return to Chicago on a free kick outside of the 18-yard box.

The Falcons claimed a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Illinois Tech cut into the lead with a goal in the 50th minute.

CUW scored five minutes later in transition when freshman Vladimir Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.) connected with Joey Moua in front of the net.

The Scarlet Hawks scored three goals in the final 30 minutes to take the victory.

Junior Alexis Diaz (Gurnee, Ill.) finished the day with four saves.

Illinois Tech finished with a 24-18 advantage in shots on Saturday. Joey Moua finished with six shots.

The Falcons look to get back in the win column when they return to action atop the parking structure at MSOE on Wednesday night.
