Pope earns NSCAA First Team All-Central Region honors

KANSAS CITY – Senior defender Jacob Pope was named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's All-Central Region first team, as was announced by the organization on Monday.

Pope earned All-Region accolades for the third time in his four-year career. This was his second straight All-Region selection as he also earned the honors in his freshman year (2010). This was his first time being chosen to the First Team. The senior was also named the NACC Defensive Player of the Year this fall.

Pope helped lead the Falcons to a 10-8-2 record. His defense was a big reason CUW posted eight shutouts throughout the season as he helped make things easy for his goalkeepers. He also tied for the team lead with seven assists, finishing his career with 42 points (15 goals, 12 assists).

During his career Pope and the Falcons reached the NACC Tournament all four years, including an appearance in the championship match in 2012. Pope helped lead CUW to 46 wins over the past four seasons, as the team gained 10 or more wins in each of his four years.
