Ann Arbor ends CUW men’s basketball win streak

Concordia Ann Arbor (14-9) ended CUW's CIT Championship hopes in
round one with an exciting 86-82 win Friday evening.
The hosts got a magnificent performance from guard Marius Williams
who connected on all 6 of his 3 point efforts, dished out 9
assists, grabbed 9 rebounds, and totaled 24 points while rallying
the Cardinals from a 42-36 halftime deficit.
Ann Arbor shot 56% from the floor for the game in handing Shawn
Cassidy's team their first loss since January 2nd. The Cardinals
finished with a spectacular13-for-21 from downtown performance
(61%), while the Falcons were a respectable12-for-28 from beyond
the arc.
Cory Stark led CUW with 20 points while Luke Doedens (18); Skip
Newton-Kemp (14); and David Lopez (12) reached double figures. For
the first time in a dozen years both Falcon teams will play in the
Saturday afternoon consolation round.
The Falcons battle Concordia-Nebraska in the consolation game set to tip-off at 1pm. The same teams met in the CIT Championship game the past two seasons, with each team winning on their home floor.
