Concordia puts away WLC 89-62
Mequon
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-5) led only once at 2-0 as CUW took control
early and raced to an 89-62 win over the Warriors this evening.
The first half was a styleless grind for both teams offensively but
Shawn Cassidy's team went into the locker room with a 35-20 lead
built on hustling perimeter defense and 5 blocked shots.
Half number two was a different story as the visitors tired and the
fresher Falcons beat them down court consistently for easy
baskets.
Five Concordia players scored in double figures led by Luke Doedens
whose 18 point effort was built on 8-11 shooting from the
field.
Edward Newton-Kemp (18); Cory Stark (16: David Lopez (12); and Mitchell Schneider (10) were among 11 Falcons who got into the scoring column.
Concordia, now 4-1 on the season, won the rebound battle 45-36 and CUW shot 51% compared to WLC's 30% field goal accuracy.
