Esports Prepares for Postseason Play

MEQUON, Wis. – It has been a quiet few days in the Esports Arena, as the Falcons prepare to ramp up for postseason play. CUW competed in Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, StarCraft 2 and Fortnite over the past few days.

Rainbow Six Siege secured a 2-0 victory to start the week against Northern Essex with 7-3 and 7-0 victories at Kafe and Oregon. Sophomore Paul Witto (Charleston, Ill.) led the Blue and White with 18 eliminations in the victory.

"Now that is how you cap off a regular season," said head coach Lewis Smith. "A flawless 7-0 win. This was a big win for us for seeding, but also gives this young team all the momentum in the world for playoffs."

StarCraft 2 competed in the ESL North American Qualifier Tournament on Monday night with senior Andrew Gordon (Olney, Md.).

Rocket League saw a mixed bag of results with a 2-3 loss to California – Davis, but rallied to sweep Southern Mississippi, 3-0.

Fortnite Trios competed on Wednesday night as well.

The Falcons will host their first-ever rivalry match on Saturday against Carroll in the "Battle for Wisconsin", with the winning school keeping the traveling trophy.
