Esports continues through November play

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW posted a quiet week with only the Rocket League and Call of Duty: Warzone teams competing.

The Rocket League team of senior Alex Reimer (Sheboygan, Wis.), senior Ethan Koch (Fredericksburg, Iowa), junior Andrew Burk (Townsend, Del.) and junior Austin Esterly (Lombard, Ill.) fell to the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers, 0-3 and the 49ers of UNC-Charlotte, 1-3.

In the first game against Rutgers, CUW fell short, 2-3. Ethan Koch scored both of the two goals in game one.

Game two saw the Falcons and Scarlet Knights go into overtime, where Rutgers won 3-2, 1:50 into overtime.

Rutgers clinched the match with a 5-3 victory in the third game.

Alex Reimer and Ethan Koch both scored three goals against the Scarlet Knights.

The Falcons started with a 3-1 over UNC-Charlotte in the first game. Austin Esterly scored all three goals in the first game.

The 49ers then cruised with 6-1, 4-1 and 3-2 victories to secure the match.

Austin Esterly and Alex Reimer both scored three goals in the match and Ethan Koch collected 10 saves.

The Falcons also competed in Call of Duty: Warzone. The team of junior Josh Klausmeier (Lathrup Village, Mich.), senior Dylan Karvala (New Berlin, Wis.), junior Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.) and senior Jacob Holst (Hartford City, Ind.) finished with 93 eliminations.

In the first game, the Falcons finished in third place, led by Karvala with 12 eliminations.

After a 12th-place finish in the second game, CUW finished in second place in the third game and in fourth place in the fourth game.

Dylan Karvala collected 42 eliminations on the night, while Ethan Koch finished the Tournament with 23 eliminations.

The Falcons are scheduled to compete in the Fortnite PlayVS Fall Season Playoffs on Dec. 5 and 6.
