Griffiths earns All-NACC First Team Volleyball honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin junior outside hitter Hannah Griffiths was named to the All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference First Team, highlighting four Falcons who earned postseason honors for the 2013 volleyball season.

Griffiths (Antigo, Wis.) was named to the All-NACC First Team after leading the Falcons in kills (335), attack percentage (.228) and finishing second on the team in digs (401) and service aces (29). She finished the season with a team-high 15 double-doubles.

Junior Britta Duchow (Potter, Wis.) earned All-NACC Honorable Mention honors after pacing CUW (14-19) in total blocks with 119 – 21 solo, 98 assisted. She also smashed 224 kills, which was third on the team, and had a .197 attack percentage. Duchow's block total consisted of 12 matches with at least five total blocks, including a career-high nine. She also moved into 26th place all-time in NACC history with 222 career blocks.

Junior Carley Valentine (De Pere, Wis.) picked up All-NACC Honorable Mention honors for the second-consecutive season. She had a stellar year, posting three triple-doubles and 13 double-doubles. Valentine was second on the team in assists (555), third in total blocks (62) fourth in kills (192), and fourth in digs (258). She also passed the 1,000-assist plateau this season.

Freshman Karina Klotz (Hubertus, Wis.) was named to the All-NACC Freshman Team after leading the Falcons with 584 assists and 35 service aces, to go along with 259 digs, which was third on the team. She had 14 matches with at least 20 assists in a 6-2 offensive system. Klotz ended the season with a career-high 44 assists.

The Falcons ended the 2013 campaign with a 14-19 overall record and a 6-5 record in NACC play. Their 14 wins was a six-win improvement from last season.
