Edgewood attacks early to beat CUW 2-1

"This was a difficult loss tonight against a quick Edgewood (5-1-0) team", explained Coach Ryan Middendorf. "It took us too long to get used to their speed. Take away the first 10 minutes when they built that early lead and it was a different match." Both of Edgewood's goals came in the first nine minutes of action. Lauren Straehler scored at the 29 minute mark for CUW.

"I was proud to see how well the team responded to being 2 goals down early," added Middendorf.

"We actually had a couple of chances to tie the match before half."

"We all know a season is full of ups ands downs and that it's how well we can respond to the "downs" that will define our team and season. I'm confident we'll regroup quickly and respond well against Aurora on Sunday. They are one of the other contenders for the conference championship."
