Lubner is Conference Wrestling Champion

CUW's Marcus Lubner won the Northern Wrestling Association championship at 125 with a 15-0 technical fall over MSOE's Austin Binish on Saturday, leading Concordia to a third place team finish.

Lubner, who pinned Knox's Charlie Duetsch in the semi finals, was voted Freshman of the Year by conference coaches. "It was great seeing Marcus win his first collegiate tourney title," said Falcon coach Bret Corner.

Falcon grapplers who earned second place points on 2-1 finishes included Josh Nord (174) and Aaron Bergen (184).

Kurt Kemnitz (133), Josh Plate (141), and Travis Pagel (285) garnered third place honors.

Lakeland won the meet with 146 points while MSOE scored 101. Concordia was third with 81 while Knox and Maranatha trailed the pack.
