Women's Lacrosse Sweeps NACC Weekly Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday morning. Kami McCardle was named the NACC Offensive Player of the Week and Anna Gong was voted as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week by the league's athletic communications professionals.

A junior from Phoenix, Arizona, Anna Gong is claiming her first-ever NACC honor.

Gong is the first Falcon to claim the honor this season and the first since May 1, 2022.

The Arizona native had six ground balls and seven caused turnovers in the NACC opener against Beloit, where she also scored a goal and two assists.

She closed the week with two ground balls and two caused turnovers against Monmouth. She also scored a career-high two goals.

A sophomore from Jackson, Wisconsin, Kami McCardle is the first Falcon to ever be voted as the NACC Offensive Player of the Week in women's lacrosse.

McCardle opened the week with three goals against Kalamazoo. To close regulation, she stole the ball back and tied the game with 23 seconds left and then scored the game-winning goal in overtime. She also added four draw controls and three ground balls.

She followed that up with a career-high five points with four goals and an assist against Beloit.

McCardle closed the week with a career-high three assists against Monmouth.

The Falcons return to play on Wednesday afternoon against Edgewood.
