#CUWStatsInfo: Women's Golf prepared to defend NACC Championship

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin women's golf team enters the season prepared to defend their NACC Championship.

CUWFalcons.com prepares you for the season ahead with things you need to know.

Reigning Champions: The Falcons enters the season as the defending NACC Champions. The Falcons shot a collective 1077 over 54 holes at the championship last season, taking first ahead of Aurora (1087) by 10 strokes. Look for the team to defend their title this season.

History of success: The CUW women's golf program has a crowded trophy case filled with both team and individual accomplishments. Over the past decade, the team has won five NACC Championships with eight individuals winning NACC Player of the Year. The Falcons are ready to add another great year to their record books.

Veteran team: The Falcon's roster consists almost entirely of returning athletes. The only freshman is Megan Whitmer (Plano, Ill.) who will look to start carving her place into the legacy of CUW women's golf. With six returning athletes (two seniors, one junior, three sophomores), the Falcons have a strong foundation entering the season.

New leadership: With the top two leading scorers from last year now graduated, the team will look to sophomore Molly Mundinger (West Bend, Wis.) for leadership. Mundinger had the third-best scoring total on the team last year with an average score of 91.3. Now the scoring leader, the team will look to her to lead them to defend their NACC title.

September schedule: The women's team opens the season on Friday, August 31 at the Carthage Invitational. The fall portion of the schedule takes place within a single month, with the NACC Tournament beginning on September 28th and running through the 30th.
