CUW Men's Soccer Claimed NACC North Division Champions in 2020-21 Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's soccer team pushed all the way to overtime in the NACC North Semifinals after claiming the title of NACC North Division champions in the spring of 2021.

The Falcons finished the year 6-2-1 never losing back-to-back games or losing games in the same month.  The men's soccer team put up a season-high number of goals on senior day against Edgewood scoring seven goals.  The squad was led in goals by sophomore Ivan Cuellar (Milwaukee, Wis.) and junior Bobby McNealy (Burlington, Wis.) both netting two goals in the contest.

On the season, the Falcons were led by sophomore Gilberto Gomez (Zion, Ill.) blasting six goals as well as two assists bringing his total points to 14. He also took 41 total shots with 20 being on goal giving him a .488 shot on goal percentage. 

The program also secured a couple of other recognitions including four players named to the All-State team as well as five All-NACC honors and two honorable mentions.  Freshman Manuel Brito (Chicago, Ill.) earned NACC North Freshman of the Year.  Sophomores Cuellar and Gomez also secures All-NACC honors as well as being chosen for the All-State team.  Junior Sam Runyan (Muskego, Wis.) secured NACC North Defensive Player of the Year while also being chosen for the All-State team.  Senior Tyler Salvador (Lindenhurst, Ill.) claimed All-NACC honors for the first time in his career playing in all nine matches and scoring the game-winning goal against Edgewood.  Junior Will King (Maidenhead, United Kingdom) claimed his second-straight All-NACC honor.  He also was the fourth member of the Falcon squad in the Wisconsin All-State team.  The last falcon with All-NACC honors is junior Jacob Stemper (Hartland, Wis.) claiming All-NACC honorable mentions. 

The Falcons look to push further in the upcoming season and are hungry for that next step.
