Men’s Soccer Rakes in All-NACC Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) anncounced All-NACC Awards on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons earned five All-NACC North Division selections in Sam Runyan, Ivan Cuellar, Will King, Gilberto Gomez and Tyler Salvador. CUW also had two honorable mention honorees in Manuel Brito and Jacob Stemper. CUW also brought home the Defensive and Freshman of the Year honors for the NACC North Division.

Sam Runyan

A junior defender from Muskego, Wisconsin, Sam Runyan was named the NACC North Division Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-NACC honors for the first time in his career. Runyan helped anchor one of the strongest defenses in the NACC in nine starts in 2021. He also added some offensive firepower with a goal and four assists on the year. Runyan is the third Falcon to ever claim the honor.

Manuel Brito

A freshman defender from Chicago, Illinois,  Manuel Brito is named the NACC North Division Freshman of the Year. Brito played in eight games for the Falcons. He helped the Falcons only allow 0.82 goals per game. He also recorded a goal at Lakeland. Brito is the second CUW player to claim the title. 

Ivan Cuellar

A sophomore forward from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ivan Cuellar is earned All-NACC honors for the first time. Cuellar scored four goals and four assists for the Falcons in the spring. He also scored the game-winning goal at MSOE in overtime to secure the NACC North title.

Gilberto Gomez

A sophomore forward from Zion, Illinois, Gilberto Gomez is making his first appearcnce on an All-NACC team. Gomez led the flock with 14 points on the season with six goals and two assists. He scored three game-winning goals and started all nine matches for the Blue and White.

Will King

A junior midfielder from Maidenhead, United Kingdom, Will King is claiming All-NACC honors for the second-straight season. King started all nine matches for CUW in the spring season. He assisted on a goal at MSOE to help the Falcons win the north.

Tyler Salvador

A senior midfielder from Lindenhurst, Illinois, Tyler Salvador is claiming All-NACC accolades for the first time in his career. Salvador played in all nine matches on the season and recorded a goal and two assists, including the game-winning goal against Edgewood.

Jacob Stemper

A junior defender from Hartland, Wisconsin, Jacob Stemper earned honorable mention honors. He started all nine matches and scored a goal at MSOE.

CUW finished the seaon at 6-2-1 and as NACC North Division champions.
