Men’s Soccer takes the North Crown in Overtime

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The CUW men's soccer team claimed their first regular season title since 2017 with a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory at MSOE on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons won the NACC North Division with 19 points at 6-1-1, one point ahead of MSOE.

Junior Jacob Stemper (Hartland, Wis.) put the Falcons ahead in the ninth minute of the match off a pass from Will King (Maidenhead, United Kingdom).

The Raiders took a 2-1 lead into halftime with a pair of goals.

Junior Sam Runyan (Muskego, Wis.) tied the game in the 85th minute on a penalty kick.

Sophomore Mattson Wick (New Berlin, Wis.) collected 10 saves on Sunday to keep the Falcons in the match.

In the second overtime session, sophomore Ivan Cuellar (Milwaukee, Wis.) knocked in the winning goal in the 104th minute to crown the Falcons kings of the north. Sam Runyan added the assist.

CUW will host Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday in the NACC North Division Semifinals.
