Loftus finishes 14th, Falcons earn top-10 finish at WLC Fall Invitational

HARTFORD, Wis. – Mike Loftus vaulted up the leaderboard on Monday at Washington Country Golf Course after carding a 6-over par 78 to finish in 14th place with a 36-hole total of 159. Meanwhile, Concordia Wisconsin earned a ninth place finish after shooting a 678 two-round total.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin has performed well in two-straight difficult tournaments as a team, this time earning a ninth place finish after shooting a 338-340 (678) total. They moved up two spots on the leaderboard during the second round.
- Senior Mike Loftus (Germantown, Wis.) sat in a tie for 30th after the opening round but responded with a 6-over par 78 to vault into 14th position. He was the only Falcon to shoot a round in the 70s during windy conditions.
- Senior Bill Jones (New Holstein, Wis.) tied for 23rd overall after shooting an 80-83 (163) total, while junior Nathan Hasenstein (Sheboygan, Wis.) competed as an individual and tied for 39th overall after an 84-84 (168).
- Junior Kyle Rebholz (West Bend, Wis.) tied for 57th position after accumulating a 90-84 (174) two-day total and junior Andrew Heideman (Bakersfield, Calif.) finished in a tie for 64th following a 94-88 (182) total.
- Senior Colin Raley (Inverness, Ill.) also tied for 64th after recording an 87-95 (182). SeniorRyan Senkbeil (West Bend, Wis.) competed as an individual and placed 77th overall with a 101-104 (205) total.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Loftus had a birdie and 20 pars during his 36 holes and on three occasions drained three-consecutive par putts.
- Jones had a birdie on the par-5, 570-yard 13th hole during the first round and 20 pars to his credit.
- Hasenstein drained 19 par putts, including a streak of five in a row from holes 4-8 on the front nine of his first round.
- Rebholz controlled the par-5 third and 17th holes by birding them during each round. He also made 10 par putts.
- Heideman posted a birdie and 11 par putts, while Raley recorded 10 pars.
- Senkbeil was 1-of-7 seven golfers to make a birdie on the par-3, 147-yard 14th hole. He also had five pars during the tournament.
- Carthage took home the team trophy with a 302-302 (604) two-day total to blow by the competition. The Red Men won the tournament by 33 strokes.
- Matt Meneghetti took medalist honors after shooting even par with a 74-70 (144). He signed for a 2-under par 70 to close the event.
