Paquin, Kurek named MWLC Players of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin swept the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference weekly aways, as Lauren Paquin was named Offensive Player of the Week and Allison Kurek earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced.

Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) was the Falcons offensive lead with nine goals and two assists during three games last week. The junior twice scored four goals and added two assists in the home-opener against Carthage. She also had 12 ground balls, seven draw controls and nine caused turnovers.

Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) was the defensive catalyst for the Falcons last week; picking up 10 ground balls, winning 16 draw controls and causing 12 turnovers. She began the week with five ground balls, six draw controls and seven caused turnovers, to go along with a goal and assist in a close 11-10 victory at Southwestern Texas. The senior also added three goals, three assists, two ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers versus Carthage in the home opener.

The Falcons being conference play on Wednesday at 4 pm against Beloit.
