Paquin, Bond lead Women’s Lacrosse in victory

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Lauren Paquin netted four goals and Ciara Bond tallied a hat trick to lead Concordia Wisconsin to an 11-10 non-conference victory over Southwestern Texas on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A back-and-forth game that featured five lead changes and five scoring ties ultimately came down to the final four-plus minutes of play. Lauren Paquin scored her second free-position goal with 4:42 to play before Ciara Bond recorded an unassisted marker for a hat trick with two minutes and 22 seconds remaining on the clock.
- The duo propelled the Falcons in from 11-9, as they held off Southwestern Texas in the waning two minutes of the contest. The Pirates did get a shot off with 1:12 to play before turning the ball over. The hosts forced a Concordia Wisconsin turnover on the ensuing possession before scoring with 12 seconds to play.
- Statistics were nearly even across the box score, with a slight advantage to the Falcons in ground balls (35-26). It was a turnover filled game with a combined 82 errors being committed, of which 45 were caused.
- Paquin (junior, Waukesha, Wis.) also had five ground balls, three draw controls and a career-high five caused turnovers. Bond (freshman, White Bear Lake, Minn.) also picked up five ground balls.
- Freshman Kat Oryszczyn (Mukwonago, Wis.) had pair of goals, while senior Caitlin Henry (Lansing, Ill.) recorded a goal, two ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Sophomore Jenny Rudenga (Elmhurst, Ill.) had a career-high four caused turnovers.
- Senior Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) had a goal, five ground balls, six draw controls and seven caused turnovers. Sophomore Kennedy Boyer (Saline, Mich.) made seven saves and picked up five ground balls to record her first career win in goal.

THE OPPOSITION
- Hayley Donnelly had a game-high five goals, while Ronni Winter netted two markers. Winter also had seven draw controls, while Julia Tape caused five turnovers. Allison Cook also had four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
