Women's Basketball Rallies to Sink Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Falcons came out on top of a battle for the final home game in the NACC Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons hooked Lakeland to the tune of a 71-63 victory to claim the fourth seed in the NACC Tournament and finish the regular season at 15-10 and 14-4 in the NACC.

The Muskies used a 6-0 run to take a 9-4 lead in the first quarter. A layup from senior Reagan Obry (Neenah, Wis.) cut the lead to 13-12 before a layup gave the Muskies a 15-12 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Blue and Gold boosted the lead to 34-19 with 4:15 left in the first half. A free throw from freshman Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.) cut the Lakeland lead to 36-25 at halftime.

The Falcons continued to chip away at the Lakeland lead and a three-point basket from sophomore Lindsey Lonigro (Deerfield, Wis.) shrank the lead to 41-39 with 5:40 in the quarter. The Muskies then took a 49-45 lead into the final quarter.

A layup from senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) gave the Falcons their first lead of the half at 55-53 and they never gave up the lead again.

Reagan Obry led the flock with 16 points in the win.

Emily Hafemann led CUW with seven rebounds, with senior Aubrey Buchholtz (Seymour, Wis.), Hafemann also added 15 points. Ava Booth finished with 12 points.

The Falcons will host Lakeland in the rubber match on Tuesday.
