Falcons Extend Win-Streak Against Eagles

VERONA, Wis. – The CUW men's soccer team traveled to Edgewood to take on the Eagles in a Wednesday-afternoon matchup.

The Falcons extended their win streak to three games with the 5-1 victory over the Eagles.

Freshman Carson Kelly (Fond Du Lac, Wis.) netted the first goal for the flock with an assist from senior Ivan Cuellar (Milwaukee, Wis.).  Just 11 minutes later in the 41st minute senior Will King (Maidenhead, G.B.) netted another Falcon, first-half goal off an assist from senior Angel Uriostegui (Grayslake, Ill.).

Senior Alex Labastida (Chicago, Ill.) slid a ball past the netminder in the 57th minute off a pass from senior Miguel Garcia (Batavia, Ill.).  Cuellar recorded his second assist in the 69th minute with a goal from senior Nick Hummel (Green Bay, Wis.) to give the Blue and White the 4-0 advantage.

The Falcons kept kicking with their fifth goal coming in the 88th minute of competition from sophomore Sam Butterfield (St. Louis, Mo.).  King assisted Butterfield.

The Eagles netted their first goal in the 89th minute, but could not overcome the sheer force of the Blue and White.

The flock peppered the goal with 12 shots on goal to the three Edgewood shots on goal.

A Saturday meeting with the Cougars of Concordia Chicago is next on the docket for the CUW men's soccer team.
