Falcons Falter at MSOE

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team traveled to MSOE for a midweek, non-conference matchup with MSOE.

The Falcons struck first on a powerplay opportunity off the stick of freshman Parker Williams (West Bloomfield, Mich.). He was assisted by freshmen Derek Humphreys (Spokane, Wash.) and Jaron Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska).

The Raiders knotted it up in the eighth minute of the first period.

The Raiders opened the second period with a pair of goals in the first nine minutes.

29 seconds after the third Raider goal, sophomore Zach Brydges (Woodbury, Minn.) netted the second goal for the Blue and White with assists from freshman Collin Kerchoff (White Lake, Mich.) and junior Nick Bowlin (Maplewood, Minn.).

Kerchoff netted the next two goals to take the Falcon lead at 4-3 with the second coming on the powerplay. 

His first goal was assisted by Bowlin and sophomore Nick Wieben (Mankato, Minn.), and the second was assisted again by Bowlin as well as junior Joey Petronack (White Bear Lake, Minn.).

The Raiders took a one-goal lead heading into the final frame at 5-4.

The Raiders netted one final goal in the 16th minute of the third period to claim the 6-4 victory.

Kerchoff finished with three total points with two goals and one assist.

Freshman Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.) recorded 40 saves in his 56:17 between the pipes.

The Falcons take a break for Thanksgiving but will be back in action on December 3.
