MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons picked up their first victory in the Jim Mosso era on Saturday evening. The Blue and White picked up a 5-2 victory to get into the win column.

The Falcons started the scoring with a goal from sophomore Zach Brydges (Woodbury, Minn.) in the first period.

The Blue and White broke open the floodgates with three goals in the first four minutes of the second period.

Freshman Ben Pizzimenti (Iowa City, Iowa) started the spree off an assist from junior Joey Petronack (White Bear Lake, Minn.).

CUW then scored 45 seconds later off the stick of freshman Jason Tenezaca (Niles, Ill.) and assists to freshman Lucas Doran (Detroit, Mich.) and freshman Noah Roitman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.).

Trine took a bite out of the lead with goals in the second and third periods.

Sophomore Nick Wieben (Mankato, Minn.) closed the book on Trine with an empty-net goal.

The Thunder rumbled 45 shots on net, including 22 in the third period, but freshman Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.) stood tall and claimed his first collegiate victory with 43 saves.
