Men’s Golf Opens Season at Culvers Edgewood Fall Classic

JANESVILLE, Wis. – The CUW men's golf team competed in their first meet of the year when they traveled to Janesville to compete in the Culvers Edgewood Fall Classic. The Falcons finished day one with a combined 329 team strokes.  

Junior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) led the Falcons through the first round of play, recording 80 strokes and a 59th-place finish.

One stroke behind Wilderman was sophomore Grant Naumann (Oconomowoc, Wis.), who finished in 68th-place with a score of 81 strokes.

Junior Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.) finished third for the Blue and White with a day score of 83 and a 78th-place finish, while fellow junior Joshua Samsell (Bay City, Mich.) finished with 85 strokes, ending the day in 83rd-place.

Rounding out the Falcons was senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) with a score of 86 strokes and an 85th-place finish. 

The Falcons will play round two on Saturday morning.
