Falcons End UW-Stout Invitational

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. - The CUW men's golf team ended their weekend at the Wisconsin - Stout Invitational.

The Blue and White finished in 21st place with a total of 752 strokes.  Wisconsin - Eau Claire took home the title with 597 total strokes.

Sophomore Nico Murgas-Bennett (Hartford, Wis.) led the flock with 176 total strokes after an 87-stroke afternoon on Monday.  Murgas-Bennett shaved two strokes off of his day-one score.

After 85 strokes on day one, sophomore Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.) finished with 187 total strokes with 102 strokes on day two.

Senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) cut four strokes off of his day-one total with a 92-stroke, second round, and finished with 188 total strokes.

Rounding out the Falcons were sophomore Joshua Samsell (Bay City, Mich.) and freshman William Popp (Fitchburg, Wis.).  Samsell finished with 192 strokes after 98 on day two and Popp finished with 196 after a day-two score of 103 strokes.

The Blue and White head to Kohler, Wisconsin to take part in the Fall portion of the NACC Championships at Blackwolf Run on Sunday and Monday.
